Welcome to the Mandala Gallery!

The purpose of this account is to provide a place for a particular kind of art called mandalas. Mandala is a Sanskrit word that means "circle". Anybody can make one.

In scraps there is provided a format for creation of a mandala, as well as an example.

Okay! Now, take that one drawing and make four copies of it. Then make four copies of the REVERSE (keep that in mind while drawing the original). Eight pictures that all look like slices of pizza? Good. Cut them out and tape them together, original-reverse-original until you have a complete circle. Now take a large piece of paper, and trace the taped mandala onto the single piece, and color it!

This is not only one way to make a mandala, as you can see from looking in the "favorites". Really all a mandala is is a circular form of art, this is just an easy way to do it. It doesn't have to be recognizable shapes or figures, think of it like cutting out a snowflake! Even the most random cuts and lines will become part of a beautiful pattern. Your imagination is the limit!!!

If you want to know more about them (or you're really really bored lol) look up "mandala" on a search engine and see all the beautiful images that come up. ^__^ Mandalas have been created by all cultures for thousands of years, and some believe that the very process of creating a mandala is an effective meditation, focus, and relaxation technique.
